Doyalson RSL Club "unlock the door to your future" with Terminal Scripting

The release of InfoGenesis' Revelation 3.3.0 provided the ability for all customers to become acquainted with a powerful new feature called "Terminal Scripting".

What is Terminal Scripting?

The POS Scripting Language (PSL) is the language of terminal scripts.  Terminal scripts are short computer programs downloaded and run by the Windows Terminal Application (WTA) to control the behaviours of functions, terminal reports, and mission-critical operations.

In essence terminal scripting provides a new mechanism for Revelation clients to manage in-house promotions and incentives, offered within nominated outlets via additional prompts or printing at POS terminals.  With the ability to drive such tasks as printing barrel tickets for entry into a promotion, based on dollar spend, time period, and or specific product(s) terminal scripting takes the guess work out of managing your advertised promotions.

"When terminal scripting became available in Revelation 3.3.0 a number of our customers seized the opportunity to really consider how they could use this new functionality within their current environments and found that the possibilities are virtually limitless", said Justin Reynolds, Managing Director, InfoGenesis Australia.

By way of example InfoGensis client, Doyalson Wyee RSL Club, located on the Central Coast of NSW, have used terminal scripting as a tool to manage a number of successful promotions within their establishment.

Most recently the Club ran an incredibly popular promotion with a major cash prise of $250,000.  aptly named, "Unlock the door to your future", the promotion was open to members only and based on receiving one ticket for every $5.00 spent at the Bar, $15.00 spent in the Coffee Shop, or $20.00 spent in their Bottle Shop, in a single transaction.

Garth Tetley, Food & Beverage Manager at Doyalson Wyee RSL said that "in the past if we were running a promotion we were relying on our employees to remember to provide an entry form to each guest or member each time they made a purchase.  Entry was often a specific product being purchased or a minimum spend per transaction in order to be eligible for an entry ticket.  Terminal scripting takes the guess work out of remembering to give out tickets, including incentives like extra tickets for purchases during specific time periods of the day, as the tickets print automatically.

I needed to ensure equitable entry criteria, so that even a guest, who may not have been familiar with the promotion, would not be excluded from the draw.  Having terminal scripting automate the ticket generation for us, meant that every qualifying transaction is included, and removes the onus from our staf [and guests] to audit the distribution process.  Now our staff simply hand over the ticket when it is printed, freeing them to concentrate on providing the excellent customer service for which the Club is renowned.

I recall, it was not so long ago that I needed to purchase a supplier promotional kit for each promotion we ran, which included all the tickets.  I save this money now, simply by printing our own tickets on our point of sale receipt printers, only when the rules of the promotion have been met."
